What is Web3 Proof of Concept Program

The Web3 Hub@Cyberport launches the Web3 Proof-of-Concept Subsidy Scheme (the “Web3 PoC Scheme”) aiming to Support Web3 Industry development by providing development stage funding support to encourage technology firms to implement Web3 Proof-of-Concepts (PoC) of innovative and high-impact solutions and eventually accelerate commercial adoption of Web3 in Hong Kong.
The Scheme provides early-stage funding support for the pre-commercialisation of leading-edge Web3 technologies that help to improve the Web3 technologies eco-system growth and commercial adoption in Hong Kong.

How does the Web3 PoC work?

Eligibility:

Applicant must be a company registered in Hong Kong and conduct substantive Web3/Web2 technology innovation activities.
Applicant is required to partner with a qualified sponsor to team up and develop the proposed Web3 PoC project through a co-creation collaboration model.
The Web3 PoC project must be an original and innovative Web3 project with a strong commercial potential for different industries in Hong Kong.

Mission:

Accelerate the implementation of innovative Web3 service/product that has a high impact and high potential for commercial adoption.
Encourage Web3/Web2 technology firms to partner and co-create with established industry players (sponsors) to implement high-value and innovative Web3 service products.
Accelerate the growth of Web3 technology communities and Web3 adoption in Hong Kong

Funding:

The approved Web3 PoC project is 100% subsidised by the Web3 PoC Scheme with funding up to HK$150,000.
Eligible applicants and Web3 PoC projects will be reviewed and approved by the HKCMCL before the funding is granted
